Screen NETS One apprentices succeed in securing Film & TV Industry employment

Our Screen NETS One apprentices graduated in December after a successful year of work placements on nine feature films and TV drama series.   They have now gone straight into employment on this year’s productions.  Lyndsay Tannahill has been working on Karen Gillan’s Directorial debut feature film, Tupperware Party as Locations Assistant.   Kal Singh Lally is working as Assistant Editor on the long awaited Zombie Musical feature Anna and The Apocalypse.  Mihail Ursu has been on Camera Assistant dailies on Tupperware Party while Kirsty Dyer has continued on Clique in the Production Office.

Continuing its legacy of over 30 years of Film and TV industry training in Scotland, Screen NETS comprises four industry embedded strands covering entry level to existing experienced crew. Screen NETS brings together the expertise of industry based training providers, Kay Sheridan, Screen Academy Scotland, Alison Goring, BECTU and Linda Fraser, Hit-the-Ground-Running, through a strong partnership and support from Creative Scotland’s Screen Skills Fund, Scottish Union Learning, Creative Skillset and BBC Scotland.

Here at Screen Academy Scotland we are proud to contribute to the Screen NETS legacy of training and talent development in the Film and TV sector in Scotland and are delighted that three of our graduates, MIhail Ursu (Screen NETS One), Simon Price (Screen NETS Runner) and Andrew Rooke (Screen NETS Runner) all took part this year in the Screen NETS programme.

Industry professionals who have worked with our Screen NETS One trainees were keen to sing their praises.

I was very impressed with Mihail and his technical knowledge. It was clear from the outset that Mihail had a wealth of camera experience to call on.
Clyde Jones, 2nd AC

In my opinion Lyndsay has proved to be an unqualified success as a NETS Trainee.
Michael Higson, Location Manager

I honestly think he has what it takes to go all the way. Kal is ready for the industry.
Colin Monie, Editor

Kirsty was a very valued member of the production team.  The training she has received through Screen NETS enabled her to carry out any task she was presented with.
