Reichenbach Falls to be screened as part of Rebusfest

Ian Rankin celebrates 30 years of the Edinburgh-set crime novels featuring the much-loved Inspector Rebus this summer. As part of Rebusfest there will be a special screening of Reichenbach Falls at Edinburgh’s Filmhouse on Saturday 1st of July at 1.15pm. Taking its title from the infamous waterfall where Sherlock Holmes met his death, this 80-minute TV movie was written by Screen Academy Scotland’s MA Screenwriting programme leader James Mavor from a short story by Ian Rankin.

Reichenbach Falls was directed by John McKay - a regular guest at Screen Academy Scotland - and stars Alec Newman as a gruff Rebus-esque detective, Alistair McKenzie as his polished nemesis and successful crime author and Richard Wilson as Sherlock Holmes. The film is being screened in association with the Edinburgh International Film Festival and there will be a Q+A with Ian Rankin and James Mavor.
