The Postgraduate Certificate in Screenwriting is an eight-month blended learning course delivered by Screen Academy Scotland tutors at Edinburgh Napier University. The course combines online lectures, tutorials, discussions and exercises with attendance at three intensive face-to-face workshops. It runs from January to August and students will undertake three modules from Screen Academy Scotland’s highly-successful MA Screenwriting masters degree, specially re-designed for online delivery.
The course has a practical emphasis and consists of one module focussing on craft skills, screenwriting theory and the way that scripts and ideas are generated and developed in the film and television industry. Along with this, there are two practical screenwriting workshops where you will develop, write and deliver a ten and then a thirty minute screenplay.
