Course Overview
Avid Media Composer video editing software is used for both online and offline editing. Avid systems have been used to create more of the world’s films, television shows and commercials than any other editing system.

New to editing or a seasoned edsitor new to Avid editing? The Avid foundational course, MC101 is for you. The 101 course is a comprehensive and thorough guide to Avid editing, taking participants through to an intermediate level with both tape-based and file-based media.

On the course you will learn the complete editing workflow-from ingest to final output of a finished master-including effects and titles. Along the way, you will receive expert tips for cutting dialogue, managing the project, and more.  This course also cover new features of version 5.0 such as new timeline direct manipulation tools, AMA enhancements, mixing frame sizes and aspect ratios, transcoding mixed rate material and new user interface updates.

This covers editing and effects techniques for both Macintosh and Windows systems and is also appropriate for Avid Symphony users.

Session time is divided between demonstration and hands-on practice, with ample time for experimentation with sample material.

All designed to give you the skills you need to work effectively with Avid in the film & TV industry or to turn you into a highly skilled professional-level user.

At the end of this course, you will be able to:
