Matt Strachan graduated in 2006 with a PG Cert in Screenwriting, and since then has written and directed a number of short films, music promos and commercials.
His short films, produced by fellow Screen Academy Scotland alumni Gemma Mitchell (through co-founded production company The Room), continue to be screened at festivals in the UK (including Raindance, Glimmer, Bradford and Foyle), Europe (including Cannes Short Film Corner) and North America. They have been nominated for a number of awards (including the Anthony Minghella and Shine Short Film Awards), as well as being picked up for broadcast by Propellor Television and distributed online via the BBC’s Film Network.
He has won several prizes for his commercial work, most recently placing 20th (out of over 2000) in Doritos’ King of Ads campaign.
Matt is now based in London (or online at www.mattstrachan.com) and is currently working on the adaptation of a short story by upcoming author Tom Lee, due for release in 2011.
