Marcelo’s MFA graduation film, The Great Flood, has screened at Sheffield Documentary Film Festival, the London Discovering Latin America Film Festival and the Irish Latin America Film Festival.

Whilst at eca, Marcelo was also commissioned by the Scottish Football Association to make Here Come the Girls, a short film promoting girls’ and women’s football in Scotland. The film has been distributed in schools and community centres throughout Scotland. He was also commissioned by the Scottish Book Trust to film a short documentary for their website on the Royal Mail Children’s Books Awards.

Marcelo is currently directing a short film called The Spy Who Had Enough, which has been conceived, crewed and casted by 8 - 10 year olds from Fife as part of the First Light youth film training scheme. He is also about to start directing a short film for Screen Academy and Sheffield Doc Fest about the art of pitching.
