Following his graduation from the MA Screenwriting course in 2007, Alistair was commissioned to write and produce a short film adaptation for the Leith Museum project. In 2008 he co-tutored a monthly screenwriting development programme called SCRIPT TALK at the Filmhouse Cinema, Edinburgh with fellow MA screenwriting graduate Sandie Jamieson. Also in 2008 he received a commission from the Leith Festival to write a stage play called HOMECOMING, which received a full production in June 2009 in collaboration with Big Village Theatre Company.
In 2009 Alistair received his second commission from BBC Radio for a 30-minute comedy drama, HAPPY NEW YEAR, which was broadcast on BBC Radio Scotland on Hogmanay 2009.

Also in 2009 his 5-minute short script, EIGHT WORDS, was filmed by director Christopher Hood of Gingerspot Productions and is now out and about on the festival circuit. Another short script, LIFT OFF, a sci-fi comedy, was directed by Weiwei Si and produced by Anne LaBarbera of Pictish Productions. This will soon join the festival circuit.
 
In 2009 Alistair won the Hydrae Theatre Playwriting Competition with his 30-minute play, THE LAZAR HOUSE which was produced by Hydrae in September 2009 in the St. Ives Festival, Cornwall.

In September 2009 he was commissioned to write the screenplay for VAULT by producer Mattias Karlsson (MA SPD) of Storymix. www.vaultmovie.com

He is currently writing a new, black-comedy thriller feature and developing a martial-arts comedy feature with Weiwei Si.
His latest stage play, AN ISLAND BETWEEN HEAVEN AND EARTH, will receive a full production in May and June 2010 at the Netherbow Theatre, Edinburgh and the Leith Festival.
