Victoria Thomas (MFA Advanced Film Practice 2009) has been accepted for the inaugural Summer Academy at Locarno.

July 2010 - MA Screenwriting Graduate's script selected for Film Festival

One of Alistair Rutherford's (MA SW 2007) short film scripts, called EIGHT WORDS, has been selected for the New York City International Film Festival and will screen in competition on August 16th. Congratulations Alistair!

Sept 25th - Feature Film Screenwriting-online (10months)

Starting in September 2010, an online feature film writing course aimed at scriptwriters who would prefer to work online rather in a classroom situation.

The course consists of 2 face to face Workshops/ 6 Online Tutorials (skype) / 10 online lessons

The course focuses on rigorous, tutor-based script consultation from idea to third draft screenplay.

On June 15th A reception was hosted by the Consulate General of Ireland during the ENGAGE workshop organised by the Screen Academy Scotland at Edinburgh Napier University. The workshop forms part of the ENGAGE programme, now in its third year.

June 2010 - Screen Academy student's film wins at EIFF

Screen Academy Scotland student Anne Milne who has just finished the  MFA Film Directing at eca  won Best Scottish Short Documentary at the Edinburgh International Film Festival for her short documentary “MARIA”S WAY”. The film has also been nominated for a European Film Prize and in March won a BAFTA New talent Award for Best Student film.
